SEIKO SOLAR DIVER LIMITED EDITION

Seiko just announced their new Solar Diver lineup many people were waiting for. New Solar Tunas, as we should call them, are powered by V147 Solar movement and are equipped with a date function a 4 o’clock. The measurements on these are 45.85mm in diameter and 12.1mm height. The stainless steel case is protected by a black plastic shroud. Of course, new series belong to the Prospex family and have 200m water resistance. We will find here some typical Seiko features like a curved Hardlex crystal protecting the dial or a standard SKX/Turtle handset.
There are 6 variants of this model, each is limited to 3000 pieces. Seiko SBDN021 (stainless steel, black bezel insert) is the only model sold with a stainless steel bracelet and it is priced at 45 000 yen. The other models, SBDN023 (stainless steel, black bezel insert), SBDN025 (stainless steel, pepsi bezel insert) are sold with a silicon band and are priced at 40 000 yen. The last 3 models, SBDN026, SBDN028, SBDN029 have gold or black coating, they come with silicon band and are priced at 45 000 yen. All models are releasing in June. It’s an interesting offering by Seiko, the only letdown is the plastic shroud. It’s hard to judge from stock photos but let’s hope it going to be a high quality plastic.
