Some more info about the WWII JLC pocketwatch:
The watches were originaly during WWII from the Britisch Forces.
After the war, the Belgian Army had to be built up again; therefore a LOT of material has been purchased second hand from the UK.
They had a mass of surplus and barely used material.
Around 1995-2000, the Belgian Army reduced masively and many stuff was for sale, ...
Then I was lucky to buy some!
All in non working order, but a watchmaker in Gent (Belgium) could easily fix one.
Caliber: The 15 jewelled Calibre 467 movements were entirely produced “in house” by Jaeger Le Coultre with no outsourced components whatsoever and have since become acknowledged as one of the most accurate and reliable military watch movements ever made.
The 2 other JLC's that I bought had more work and needed money to repair: I offered them to Mr. Philippe Dufour (!) to help one of his pupils to learn on it: there is a lack of REAL watchmakers and via him I could help a bit to keep this profession alive.
I visited him in Le Solliat (CH) in his famous workshop, he is the most experienced and most famous "one man manufacturer" in the world.
I hope to have given some interesting information for this forum!
