Fortis has developed a new watch that has been tested in the stratosphere to withstand the demands of space flight. Designed in partnership with the Swedish Space Corporation, the Stratoliner is a watch built for space travel with a movement called Werk 17, which they say is the first-ever movement that has been tested in the stratospshere. The movement is an in-house column wheel chronograph with a 60-hour power reserve, which is housed inside a 42mm recycled stainless steel case.

At the moment, not much more information is available, other than that the Werk 17 is a column-wheel operated chronograph movement with automatic winding and 60 hours of autonomy, and with an obvious relation to the 7750 base and probably the involvement of La Joux-Perret in the development (some of the parts, like the atypical column-wheel, leave few doubts about its provenance
