-mostly plastic, calibre is sealed! no repair or adjustment possible, crown-stem not very strong ... 
If not working, throw in the bin ... more waste... long lasting calibers are better for the environment.
Even quartz watches are better: batteries go in the recycle chain.
But that is only my opinion.

The replacement of the calibre costs around 50-70€
Considering this I would suggest it is reasonable a price to replace it every 5-6 years if daily wearing it (which I highly doubt )
Considering the waste , well it stands true but still , buying so many things altogether (including watches, straps etc ) we do severely damage the environment by so many other means . So I don’t know if this a point to judge over or against such a decision
