This was an exceptional situation: wind on the take off place was OK. There was dynamic air (from the sea) and thermic air (clouds above us).
Take of height is there only 150m. due to thermic: up to 400m ! but there the frontwind became much stronger on this altitude ...
No way to go forward to the beach ... flying backwards ... So trying to steer the glider to a more or less safe place...
I missed the street by 2 m and landed hard between the rocks. The seat has a thick foam cushen and there is the reserve parachute unterneath,
they absorbed most af the impact..., bu still I got "blue spots " on my side and leg and arm! but nothing serious.
Indeed, it need experience and to keep cool and no panic, no stress: just decide in time what to do.
My friend had the same problem and landed in the valley 150m deeper then the castle.
He steered more or less beween the trees and special the kyparissi tree is dangerous because very high!
He landed also safe and then marched 1 km through the bush towards the mainstreet.
No way to wear expensive watches!
But we are keen to make other flights if the weather is OK, maybe from the high mountains next week!
