http://forums.watchuseek.com/showthread.php?t=2912914Now that the Diver One Quartz range is improved I can introduce the automatic Bell Diver 1

I have been working on the Bell Diver 1 for the past year and have taken my inspiration from vintage watch designs, the dive support vessel I work on and functionality.
The case will be 43mm and lug to lug will be 51mm, the thickness is 16mm, space grey dial, gloss black markers, gloss black hour and minute hands, a gloss red second hand, gloss red writing on the dial and a domed sapphire crystal in the style of my favourite red writing models.

The watch will have what I'm calling a 'Heliox Escape Valve' for two reasons the first being we no longer get pure helium offshore it comes with 2% of oxygen mixed in and this is because pure helium will kill you and accidents have happened in the past, the helium may then be mixed again depending on the divers working depth. The second reason is you must unscrew the watch crown on the initial blow down and let the Heliox inside to equalise, if you do not do this the pressure on the crown will make it impossible to open without causing damage to the keyless works and you will not be able to change the time (date) if the boat you are on moves to another time zone.
I have taken two sample cases into the saturation dive system to test the Heliox Escape Valves and they both worked perfectly from 151 metres of decompression.

The case shape is based on a squashed Diver 1 Silicon without crown guards and with chamfers, the 8mm 'big' crown is the shape of the regulators in the diving bell, the bezel insert has smaller and plain numbers and that is a reference to the 1950's style dive watches, maxi markers in gloss black, PN style minute track and the bezel ring is the same style as the D1 Silicon.
A perfectly ample water resistance of 500m~1640ft as I can safely say no one will be diving (in water) to that depth and that also means I can have the watches tested to that depth, it's also the depth rating on the first 1960's single Red Sea Dweller.
Super luminova SL-BGW9 dial hands and bezel insert and that's blue.
The movement will be the automatic Miyota 9015 and I've been testing samples and this movement has performed the best by far and my watchmaker also agrees, as we get a bit of magnetism offshore the dial will be brass and the movement will be enclosed in a brass shield.
The watch will be high quality and very robust.
A fitted Genuine Rubber strap with the Bell Diver 1 and Scurfa Watches logos.
Like the diver one range this design is my own idea and most of it thought up in the many hours spent in the saturation dive system.
I hope you like the new design and I'm hoping to have them complete in May/ June price will be around £298-£324 depending on the dollar exchange on the final payment date, thanks for reading Paul.
