The new Certina DS-1 Powermatic 80 is powered – nomen eat omens – by the ETA Calibre Powermatic 80. The latter offers a power reserve of 80 hours. The Powermatic 80 calibre is reliable and that what I today would call “state of the art” in the entry price level.

The 316L-steel case has a diameter of 40 mm, is waterproof to 100 meters  and features a curved sapphire glas that is treated to be antireflective.

You may choose in-between a version with a silver and a black dial. Additional there is the Certina DS-1 Powermatic 80 – Himalaya Special Edition dedicated to the conquest of the 8167 meter high Dhaulagiri summit in 1960.
