Bulova Reveals Jet Star Watch Collection
Including three different timepieces inspired by its original 1973 archive.
Bulova aims to bring back the essence of its heritage with the launch of the Classic Jet Star collection, paying homage to its original 1970s timepieces. The three vintage-inspired watches in the collection feature meticulous attention to detail and incorporate proprietary movements from Bulova Manufacture.
At the heart of the Jet Star release is the Bulova Manufacture Precisionist High Precision Quartz movement — which features a 262kHz frequency, bringing accuracy within a range of plus or minus five seconds per month. The smooth sweeping second-hand beats 16 times per second, adding a touch of elegance to each of the timepieces.
Design elements were carefully chosen from the watchmaker’s archive, with inspirations being drawn specifically from its 1973 model, bringing a timeless charm to the new Jet Star watches. The turtle-shaped case has been modernized into a contemporary 40mm angular shape, while the original dial colors from that era showcase a captivating “dégradé effect.”
Included in the collection are three new models, each with its own unique style. The first features a stainless steel case and a merlot dial, accompanied by a matching stainless steel bracelet with a double press deployable buckle.The second model boasts a butterscotch dial, a gold-tone stainless steel case, a brown leather strap with yellow contrast stitching and a three-piece buckle providing a sporty appearance. Each of these models is priced at $595 USD, making them accessible to a wide range of collectors.
The third watch, priced at $695 USD, was designed with enthusiasts in mind and is a limited edition of 7,300 pieces. It features a stainless steel bracelet, an additional blue leather strap and is presented in a special numbered box set. The timepiece showcases a clean, bright white dial with blue accents, red hands, and indicators.
All watches in the collection feature a domed sapphire crystal, luminous hands and cabochons at the hours, a date window at 3 o’clock, 50M water resistance, and interchangeable bracelets and straps with easy-release latched spring bars. The collection is set to launch on Bulova’s official site this summer.
