Rolex Precision Reference 9083, Yellow Gold "UFO"

The unique look of the Rolex reference 9083 explains its peculiar nickname, "UFO." It is amazing to think that with this Precision, Rolex was already offering a particular kind of integrated bracelet way back in the 1950s, when they wouldn't truly take off for two decades. To add interest, this is actually the very first time I've seen such a watch in yellow gold! It gets even more captivating when you look at the engravings on the inside of the caseback and the clasp, respectively "DS&S" and "WAB." Both indicate U.K. suppliers that Rolex contracted in the 1950s, letting you know everything is good. While this watch is by no means unique, there's something very locally-produced about it that sets it apart.
