Richemont is a luxury goods holding company based out of Switzerland. In 1988, South-African businessman Johan Rupert founded Compagnie Financiere Richemont SA to serve as a holding company for the luxury goods market. This publicly traded company sells and distributes premium jewelry, watches, clothing, accessories, and many other luxury goods. As of 2012, Richemont SA is the sixth largest corporation by market capitalization in the Swiss Market Index.

LVMH (Moët Hennessy • Louis Vuitton S.A.) is a result of the 1987 merger of Louis Vuitton and Moët Hennessy. LVMH is now a multinational luxury goods conglomerate based in Paris, France. Christian Dior is the main holding company of LVMH and Bernard Arnault, is the chairman of Dior and CEO of LVMH. LVMH possesses a portfolio of over 60 brands in a variety of industries ranging from perfume and cosmetics to watches and jewelry.

Swatch is the world’s largest watch company. The company began its formation in the early 1980s. In addition to owning many of the most well-known luxury watch brands in the world, Swatch also has its own collection of watch. It wanted to develop a watch that would recapture the entry-level market share. The result is a line of unique and interesting watches that appeal to the watch lover on a budget.
