ImageShack.usOceanArc are a new British watch company based near Bristol in the South West of England. Bristol has a long maritime history, being an important port for over seven centuries.
OceanArc the company have previously worked in both design and engineering, Kevin Lambert, the designer of the 'Series One Divers Watch' says:
I have been a watch enthusiast for many years. I decided to combine my love of watches with my skills, and design from scratch the dive watch I would want to wear. My design premise was simple, the watch must be complex in its design, with many fine details. It must stand out from the crowd and be instantly recognisable.
The design started with the icon of a cresting wave and this formed the basis of the face and OceanArc logo design. The hand designs and hour markers are in the form of tridents, spears used by fishermen and an icon of the sea gods from various mythologies. Lastly the sweeping seconds hand is formed into its own cresting wave to complete the fine detail of this watch.
To make this design even more distinctive I decided to use various colours of a luminous compound on these main features, so that even in the dark the Series One will shine out.
