Pronto Watch Co. is a Swiss watchmaker , who was initially based in Le Noirmont in the canton of Jura.
Today it is situated in Meyrin, as part of a holding company.
Noirmont was known for its watchmakers since the mid- 19th century. The place where Léon Maître took the initiative in 1890 to set up his own company. A company that over the years adopted a few name changes but still referred to Maître each time. It was only after the turn of the century that the name Pronto was used and deposited. In the meantime, a second branch was opened in Langenthal in 1896. The watchmaking business nevertheless remained in the hands of the Maître family, such as by Robert Maître (1922-2002), who was in charge of Maître Frères - Pronto Watch for several decades.
