Friday, January 23, the Commercial Court of Besançon chose among five potential acquirers, the company Amber Morteau to resume Yema watch company of Besançon. Amber society, which had the support of seven employees of Yema, 6 and will retain this cover will pay for 200,000 euros.
After a bankruptcy in November and 15 layoffs, Yema Besancon will have a new boss from 1 February.
In 1948 the company had been created Yema which counted up to 300 employees, before going under various treads as Matra, Seiko in the 80s, and later as a former executive in 2004 Siko of and finally the Chinese group Peace Mark until its bankruptcy in August 2008.
The watchmaker Amber employs fifty employees to Mortlake, and some 150 in Saint-Maurice. The company owns the brand watches midrange Yonger & Bresson and participates every year at the Basel fair in Switzerland.
