TAG Heuer Releases Its Second 160-Year Anniversary Carrera Watch
TAG Heuer continues to celebrate its 160-year anniversary with the unveiling of the Carrera 160 Years Montreal Limited Edition. It’s the second limited-edition timepiece released by the Swiss watch brand to celebrate the anniversary of its founding in 1860. The first was the TAG Heuer Carrera 160 Years Silver Dial Limited Edition released in January.
The name and design of the anniversary model is based on a collection of Heuer automatic racing chronographs produced from 1972 to 1983 called the “Montreal,” noted for its colorful dials and 42mm cushion-shaped steel (or gold-plated) case without lugs. The bright-colored dials were popular in the 1970s with the introduction of colored luminescent materials. The particular inspiration for the new limited edition watch was the White Heuer Montreal, reference 110503W, which was one of the three first models produced under the Montreal name. (The other inaugural references had blue and black dials.)
The watch is powered by the TAG Heuer caliber Heuer 02 automatic in-house movement that comprises 168 components, including a column wheel and a vertical clutch with an 80-hour power reserve.
The watch is completed with a blue alligator leather strap and special packaging. The Carrera 160 Years Montreal Limited Edition. “Montreal.” will be available exclusively in TAG Heuer boutiques and online at www.tagheuer.com. It’s limited to 1,000 pieces.
