Casio has been testing the new assembly line and the new "Made in Japan" watches will start to appear at the end of August. The first model that will be assembled in it will be the Casio A159 , which has been in stores since 1989, and whose version - the one produced by robots - will initially be destined for the Japanese market. But they will not stay there. After this first experience will begin to produce more models of Collection, and in the future will be fully automatic production of parts such as belts or armis, and packaging.
This new line is capable of increasing the production of a model three times more than if it were done with traditional media or / and suppliers, and working an eight-hour shift would monthly produce 100,000 watches. In it the entire production process of a clock is carried out integrally, from the assembly of the module, to the assembly of the box, pieces, etc. The ease of production of this type of modules and their relatively simple assembly are also fundamental for speed and efficiency in carrying out this task. Casio will produce in it a watch at half the price that if it is made with suppliers or factories abroad, thus saving half of production costs (which is not the total price of the watch, the truth is that what increases the price of a watch the most is the distribution), and Casio estimate that they can maintain the same prices as when they are manufactured in China or in other regions outside Japan, stating that - more or less - the total costs of the watch will be similar to those manufactured by its suppliers in other countries.
