ώστε να έχει ένδειξη ζώνης δεύτερης ώρας που βασίζεται στο πρότυπο UTC (Universal Time Coordinated) και όχι στο GMT ως συνήθως.
Η τοπική ώρα υποδεικνύεται από τους μπλε δείκτες και η ώρα της δεύτερης ζώνης από τον rose gold δείκτη.

Even though he has created many very complicated watches, the brand’s founder, French watchmaker Francois-Paul Journe, has always been interested in accuracy above all. The Chronomètre Optimum takes that quest for timekeeping precision to a new level. The watch, which Journe calls the “masterpiece” of his eponymous brand’s Souveraine collection, incorporates in its manufacture movement all of the technologies that Journe has developed — which have previously debuted in other Souveraine watches — to ensure ideal timekeeping precision and stability.

The Chronomètre Optimum includes a double barrel with two springs, in a parallel arrangement that helps to reduce friction by eliminating the lateral pressure on the wheel. It also incorporates Journe’s patented, constant-force remontoire device, here made of titanium for the first time, which balances the driving force applied to the escapement by means of an extra gear that is wound in short spurts by the mainspring. Another patented invention, Journe’s EBHP high-performance bi-axial escapement, uses two wheels and functions without lubricant in order to reduce friction. Journe says he based this invention on direct-impulse escapements created in the 18th century. The balance spring uses a Phillips curve, which is meant to ensure better equilibrium. Finally, Journe has incorporated the “natural” dead-beat seconds function that made its debut in the brand’s Tourbillon Souveraine watch, which debuted in 2004. Here, it is incorporated into the back of the movement, in a seconds circle screwed onto the bridges.

The watch is available in two sizes — either 40 mm or 42 mm in diameter — in either rose-gold case with rose-gold dial or platinum case with white gold dial. The movement, Caliber 1510, is manual-wound and, as in other Journe timepieces, made of 18k rose gold.

The dial of the Chronomètre Optimum features an off-center hours and minutes display, a small-seconds subdial at 9 o’clock, and a hand-type power reserve indicator at 6 o’clock. The movement holds a power reserve of 70 hours.

Journe says that the Chronomètre Optimum is not a limited edition per se, but production is, of course, limited to the number of pieces that his small, boutique company can make per year in its Geneva workshop. Journe takes great pride in the watch, which represents a pinnacle in his quest for ultimate timekeeping precision. “My watchmaking philosophy,” he says, “is to make watches that will still work in 200 years.”

1. Solid gold movement. Όλη η μηχανή είναι φτιαγμένη από 18Κ χρυσό
2. Ρυθμισμένη σε 6 θέσεις. Συνήθως οι περισσότερες μηχανές είναι ρυθμισμένες και μετρημένες σε 5 θέσεις.
3. Journe "mystery" Οι πιο παρατηρητικοί θα βλέπουν ότι τα δύο barrels (πάνω αριστερά) και το balance wheel/escapement (κάτω δεξιά) φαινομενικά δεν συνδέονται (αδύνατο). Πρακτικά είναι οφθαλμαπάτη, αφού η σύνδεση γίνεται από κάτω από το dial.

Ενδιαφέρον ! Και χρονόμετρο. :)Κοίτα, ο Journe φαίνεται ότι πραγματικά θέλει τα κομμάτια του να είναι άψογα, τουλάχιστον προς το παρόν. Οπότε δεν θα μπορούσε να είναι κάτι άλλο.

Βασισμένο στο Only Watch πρωτότυπο ο Journe παρουσίασε και την εκδοχή του "του εμπορίου".
Grand complications λοιπόν, με 18 complications, tourbillion με remontoir d’égalité όπως του αρέσει να βάζει πάντα και 758 κομμάτια μόνο για τη μηχανή.
Και όλα αυτά σε 44mm κάσα με 13.8mm πάχος.

Παραδόξως, παρόλο που όλα τα Journe είναι από πολύτιμο μέταλλο, αυτό είναι από ατσάλι. Φυσικά δεν τσιγκουνεύτηκαν το υλικό, απλά ο FP (αποδεικνύοντας την προσοχή στη λεπτομέρεια που τον χαρακτηρίζει) θεωρεί ότι το ατσάλι ακούγεται καλύτερα. Α ναι, είναι και minute repeater.
Κάτι ακούγεται για ~900.000 δολάρια (προ φόρων).

Φτιαχνει απιστευτα ρολογια που θεωρουνται η επιτομη της ωρολογοποιιας, δε δεχεται τιποτα λιγοτερο απο την τελειοτητα.
Καποια πιο σπανιαρολογια του ακολουθουν την πολιτικη των Grand complications της Πατεκ (πρεπει δηλαδη να εχεις διαπιστευτηρια, να σαι τακτικος πελατης κτλ) για να τα παρεις.
Επισης , ειναι ο μονος independent που χει καταφερει να πιασει το σφυγμο των ωρολογοφιλων, συλλεκτων αλλα και νεοπλουτων, με αποτελεσμα πολλα μοντελα του να ξεπουλαν.
Το πιο χαρακτηριστικο ειναι το entry level του, το Chronometre Bleu ,που ναι απ τα λιγα που δεν ειναι απο πολυτιμο μεταλλο αλλα απο tantalum. Το ρολοι αυτο πλεον ειναι προσβασιμο ειτε απο μελη του club που εχει ιδρυσει (invitation only φυσικα) η με τρελο καπελο και ελαχιστα 2ο χερι.
Και φυσικα , ειναι ο μονος που ακομη και ενα "απλο " κουωρτζ, το παει σε αλλο επιπεδο, κανοντας το grail level watch (σορι απο τους φαν της GS, αλλα το χριζω best quartz out there :D) :

Μια διόρθωση μόνο, το CB δεν είναι club exclusive. Αυτά είναι τα black face. Και κάποια μοναδικά κομμάτια όπως το Jade Tourbillion. Το club είναι για όποιον έχει αγοράσει ρολόι του από boutique.
Το CB είναι πια αδύνατο να το βρεις γιατί λόγω δυσκολίας επεξεργασίας του τανταλου αλλά και το γεγονός ότι κάθε dial πρέπει να έχει ακριβώς τη σωστή απόχρωση του μπλε (αν θυμάμαι καλά το 80% των dials βγαίνει λάθος και πετιέται) εξαρχής είχε παραγωγή 100 κομμάτια το χρόνο. Πρόσφατα επίσης λόγω της μεγαλύτερης γκάμας πια, έχει έλλειψη από τεχνίτες και μείωσε ακόμα περισσότερο την παραγωγή στα 90 κομμάτια.
Είχα διαβάσει/δει συνέντευξη με μεγαλο-συλλέκτη που είχε καμία 15αρια Journe και έλεγε ότι ζήτησε από τον ίδιο τον Journe να του πουλήσει CB, λέγοντας του το γνωστό "δεν είμαι τυχαίος, θα παρω πολλά κομμάτια" και ο ίδιος του αρνήθηκε αφού είναι φανατικός κατά των καπέλων και των "εξαιρετικών πελατών". Τελικά κατέληξε να το πάρει δεύτερο χέρι.
Μάλιστα ο ίδιος συλλέκτης όταν τον ρώτησαν γιατί είναι τόσο ενθουσιασμένος με τη μάρκα είπε "είναι σαν να αγοράζεις πίνακα από τον ίδιο τον Πικασσο όσο ζούσε".

Introduced in 2013, the original Quantième Perpétuel was a concise perpetual calendar with useful features, as well as a peculiar, egg-shaped steel ring around the centre of the dial. Now the design has been refined – but all functionality retained – to create the new F.P. Journe Quantième Perpétuel with gold numerals. And though this was officially announced only recently, the watch has already been available at boutiques for several months
Compared to the earlier F.P. Journe calendar watches, the Quantième Perpétuel was a big improvement with its highly legible display and improved user friendliness. But the first generation dial was odd because of the steel ring around the centre.
That’s been changed with the new model, and the improvement is substantial. The new dial appeals because it doesn’t try too hard to be different. Instead, it differentiates itself in more subtle ways.
And the boutique-only blue-dial version is unusual, which is a plus if you’re looking for something different. F.P. Journe has rarely used matte, dark blue dials on standard-production watches; historically only limited editions and custom watches had such dials.
Borrowing the clous de Paris engine-turned centre from the Chronometre Souverain, the dial is made of solid silver, while the applied numerals and calendar window frames are solid gold. The addition of gold frames for the calendar do make the positions of the windows more obvious, which throws off the vertical balance of the dial slightly, but not enough to make it unattractive.
Notably, the egg-shaped centre is still there – it’s the guilloche portion of the dial – but without the steel ring, the shape is no longer overt except in the different sizes of the numerals at the quarters.
Dial aside, the rest of the watch is identical to the first generation. The case is available in 40 mm or 42 mm – the latter feels a little too large – and is an elegant 11 mm high.
The movement remains the same cal. 1300.3, an automatic with an instantaneous perpetual calendar. All of the calendar functions can be set forwards and backward via the crown, except for the month that is set via the lever hidden under the upper-right lug.

Για μένα είναι η κορυφη της υψηλής ωρολογοποιίας.Γενικά παίζει πολύ ψηλά.. από τους νέους Υ.Ω κοντραρει στα ίσια παλιούς
