You know, I love the 5100. I don't own one, but knowing how it works, I couldn't imagine owning the absurdly strange and hard to read Val. 7750.
Hence my question:
Why hasn't the 5100 movement been re-created? It sure seems people are willing to pay a premium for it, which is a testament to the love of a great design.
I realize it probably is an expensive movement due to the intricacies of four hands in the center shaft with up to three satellite shafts, but I think people will pay a little extra for it.
Edit : I know the ETA 252.261 movement models the 5100, but it is quartz. I thought the 252.261 movement would be more popular but surprisingly, it's not.
So this leads me to question my assumption that the 5100's layout is really as popular as I first thought (?)
Any ideas?
