Featuring a Self-Regulating Gravity Control Gyroscopic Module: A First in Mechanical Horology - Limited Edition of 10 Pieces
The case, in platinum with DLC coating, measures 45mm x 21.4mm. It has a cambered sapphire crystal, AR-coated, with domes protecting the gyroscopic module. It is water resistant to 30 meters.
Movement is the Swiss hand-wind Zenith in-house caliber El Primero 8804 with 45 jewels, 36,000 vph and a power reserve of 50 hours. The Gyroscopic carriage is made of 171 components. Functions are: hours and minutes in an offset dial at 12 o'clock, "Gravity Control" self-regulating module at 6 o'clock, small seconds at 9 o'clock and power reserve at 3 o'clock.
The Gravity Control module enables the escapement to remain in a constant horizontal position no matter the the slant of the wrist, which results in the widest possible amplitude of the balance wheel and neutralizes the influence of gravity.
The dial features a depiction of Felix Baumgartner's jump, with the Stratosphere done in aventurine and Earth in blue turquoise, with Felix Baumgartner emerging from the capsule done in hand-chased and engraved gold. The hands are rhodiumed and facetted with white lacquered hour markers.
