H Bvlgari έχει πάρει τα πάνω της, βγάζοντας το ένα καταπληκτικό ρολόι μετά το άλλο. Καλά το Octo Finissimo satin polished είναι από άλλο πλανήτη. :P

Ωρολογοποια και κοσμήματα ειναι αλληλένδετα.
Παρόλα αυτά κοσμήματα χωρίς ρολόγια θα υπήρχαν, ωρολογοποια χωρίς ανθρώπους εξειδικευμένους στα κοσμήματα πολύ δύσκολα να υπήρχε.

The watch is the thinnest mechanical chronograph on the market today.
Creating a more aggressive look for the elegant Octo Finisissimo Chronograph, The Rake and Bulgari reveal a new tool watch version of the timepiece complete with an engraved tachymeter bezel and a luminescent dial option. These two features presented a couple of technical challenges in that the construction of the watch would be compromised from any pressure that would deform the bezel and because of the thinness of the indexes and hands, it would be virtually impossible to coat these elements in lume.
Bulgari successfully found the solution after many attempts and the lume issue was solved by painting the entire dial so that the indications would show in negative relief. Fitted to a matching sandblasted bracelet, the watch features a 42mm case and an automatic BVL 318 Finissimo Extra-Thin Caliber with a 55-hour power reserve, a 3.3mm movement that allows for the watch to come in at a record-breaking 6.9mm.
The watch will be produced in a limited run of 25 pieces with a white or lume dial .

Ως κάτοχος Octo Finissimo πρέπει να πω ότι δεν μετάνιωσα ούτε στιγμή για την αγορά που έκανα. Όταν αναλογίζομαι όλα όσα προσφέρει και το συγκρίνω με άλλα ρολόγια της συλλογής μου και με άλλα δημοφιλή sport-dress μοντέλα, συνειδητοποιώ ότι αξίζει τα λεφτά του και με το παραπάνω...και έχει όλα τα χαρακτηριστικά για να γίνει ένα κλασικό του μέλλοντος. The Italian jewelry and watchmaking house just dropped the Octo Finissimo Ultra, which takes the world record for the thinnest mechanical watch ever created—the eighth time the house has set a record for thinness.
There’s no shortage of talking points when it comes to the €400,000 watch (approximately $440,600 at current exchange), just 10 units of which will become available towards the end of the year. For a start, its record-breaking thinness wowed watch-lovers gathered today at the piece’s launch at Rome’s Pantheon—just one of that city’s architectural gems which inspired the Octo’s design tenets. At 1.8 mm, the Ultra’s thickness is akin to two credit cards held flush together. It is so slim—any slimmer, in fact, and it’d look like it had been spray-painted onto the wrist—that there is no crown for winding/time adjustment: instead, it comes with a custom-made box that replenishes its 60-hour power reserve and regulates its timekeeping.
Its creation involved the filing of eight—that number again, natch—patent applications (involving, among other aspects, the watch glass assembly, barrel structure, oscillator module and bracelet).
Then there are its striking looks: its 40 mm, sandblasted titanium case and bracelet somehow blend industrial chic with the kind of dressy sophistication Octo Finissimo wearers demand. Hours, minutes and seconds are displayed in three sub-dials which, along with visible gears and cogs, make up a cluster of various-sized, rakishly off-kilter spheres on a dial that is domed gently by a layer of sapphire crystal.
The fourth, and largest, sphere in that mix contains a wealth of extra information—none of which can be discerned by the human eye. Rather, it’s a QR code that has been engraved on the barrel, leading owners to a repository of feature interviews, making-of segments and a virtual 3-D tour of the movement. Each piece also comes with an original NFT artwork.
According to Bvlgari’s executive director of product creation Fabrizio Buonamassa Stigliani—who has referred to the Octo family as “the fusion of edgy Italian design and Swiss engineering”—achieving this feat involved completely rethinking the existing tenets of watch design and construction. “From the very first meeting, we said: ‘OK, we have to start from scratch,’” he told Robb Report before the aforementioned launch, in an office at Bvlgari’s flagship boutique near the Spanish Steps. “We have to utilize every bit of room within the octagonal shape to achieve this kind of result. We’re not obliged to have a similar dial to previous versions—we have to spread out the movement.”
Here, Stigliani grabs a red pen from his desk and, with swift, deft strokes, recreates that cluster of circles that makes up the Ultra’s dial—as elegant a case of precision design posing as off-the-cuff disorder you’ll ever see—on a sheet of A4. “We also had to rethink the bracelet—something the Octo Finissimo is very well known for,” he continues. “We already had the invisible buckle: but we had to make a brand new one, less than half the thickness of the existing one. To achieve this degree of thinness, you not only have to review your way of thinking, but you must also draw upon a wide range of skills, play with multiple materials and adapt to a multitude of new constraints.”

High-end watch brands collaborating with automotive manufacturers on co-branded, special edition timepiece is very common and it has been happening for many, many decades; but such partnerships are mostly restricted to carmakers. We get excited every time we see watchmakers join hands with motorcycle brands for something special as they are so rare. A few months back, Breitling teamed up with Triumph to introduce a pair of special edition Top Time chronographs and a commemorative bike. Just when we thought that was it for the year, Bulgari announced a new brand partnership with its fellow Italian brand Ducati by revealing a new limited edition wristwatch – the Bulgari Aluminum Chronograph Ducati Special Edition.
Building on Bulgari’s popular Aluminum series, the new collaborative piece uses the Aluminum Chronograph as the starting point and features several special design touches that celebrate Bulgari’s partnership with the iconic Italian bike manufacturer. The most prominent of them is the dial that’s finished in Ducati’s signature color red. While the dial’s layout and design remain mostly unchanged, there are few updates that separate it from the standard model. As a tribute, the printed black baton indices are joined by printed Arabic numerals at 10, 11, and 12 o’clock with the typeface taken directly from the tachometer gauges of Ducati’s motorcycles. Additionally, the black chronograph sub-dials are also inspired by a rev-counter and feature red needle hands along with swept-back numerals.
The 40mm round case, like in the standard model, is made out of aluminum and features the line’s trademark black rubber bezel engraved with twin oversized Bulgari emblems. Ducati’s branding only appears on the caseback that’s etched on the surface that’s offered with a matte black DLC titanium treatment. Housed inside the case is the ETA 2894-based BVL 130 automatic chronograph movement that offers an average 42-hour power reserve. Just like the watch it’s based on, the Bulgari Aluminum Chronograph Ducati Special Edition is paired with the line’s unique rubber and aluminum hybrid strap. The new watches in the collection are a way for Bulgari to redefine its octagonal style and they’ve been designed with Swiss watchmaking and Italian flair to elevate the octagonal watch shape that Bulgari is known for.
As stated by Bulgari, the watches are for individuals who “demand a statement timepiece that offers a range of options, from a gorgeous automatic watch to a stunning chronograph to a mesmerising tourbillon piece.” Speaking of the many Octo Roma options, the new collection features six models, all of which feature the iconic round-but-not-round shape.
First in the Octo Roma collection is the Octo Roma Automatic, a 41mm automatic mechanical model powered by Bulgari’s in-house Calibre BVL. The watch has three hands, date, and a power reserve of 42 hours. Available in three dial colourways – blue, white and anthracite – the pattern on the Octo Roma Automatic face forms a series of pyramids that’s enhanced by the 3D effect of the Clous de Paris technique. When purchased, the watch comes with two wristband options, so shoppers can switch between a rubber strap or a stainless steel bracelet.
The Octo Roma Chronograph is the first in the Octo Roma collection that’s powered by the new Calibre BVL 399. This in-house mechanical movement has automatic winding that does so using the motion of your wrist and the mechanism operates at a frequency of 28,800 vibrations an hour. The watch has a sleek dial with a central seconds hand, 30-minute counter and 12-hour counter, and is available in black or blue.
The next four watches are the Octo Roma Tourbillons that are meant to represent the “perfect fusion of Swiss watchmaking excellence and Roman creativity”. Starting off with the first duo: the Octo Roma Striking Papillon Tourbillon and the Octo Roma Striking Tourbillon Saphir. Both 44mm watches are a modern take on Haute Horlogerie, and have been given new cases with a lighter feel, soft curves and a more refined design.
The Tourbillon in each watch is alternately displayed at 6 o'clock and the hands and minutes work intricately together, moving back and forth between horizontal and vertical positions. With a 60-64 hour power reserve, the Striking Papillon Tourbillon and Striking Tourbillon Saphir are both eye-catching with black rubber alligator straps, titanium folding buckles and neon green accents.
The final two watches in the Octo Roma collection are the Octo Roma Precious Naturalia and the Octo Roma Tourbillon Lumiere. Like the first duo, this second duo both share a connection with use of hard stone or diamond elements.
The Precious Naturalia has a skeletonized manufacture movement and the gear train can be observed as it gets closer to 6 o’clock. The 44mm watch features the brown and gold tones of tiger eye that cover each of the 12 indexes, a satin-brushed rose gold case and crown, and a brown alligator strap with rose gold folding buckle.
The Tourbillon Lumiere is the only women’s watch in the Octo Roma collection. At 38mm, the rose gold case is set with 267 round brilliant cut diamonds, bezel set with 48 round brilliant cut diamonds, and a cabochon-cut ruby is set in the rose gold crown. An incredibly colourful sparkly watch, the Tourbillon Lumiere has a skeletonized Calibre BVL 208 movement, diamond minute track, 64-hour power reserve and is complete with a red alligator strap with diamond folding buckle.

Είναι σχέδιο που μου αρέσει, εντελώς ξεχωριστό (και το solotempo και το gmt) βλέπω στο Chrono24 ότι γενικά είναι χαμηλά οι τιμές τους.
