Για όσους δεν ξέρουν για την ιστορικότητα, και το τι σημαίνει Cartier Santos για την ωρολογοποιία :
The Cartier Santos, first designed in 1904, was one of the first modern watches designed specifically to be worn on the wrist. It was designed by Louis Cartier for his friend, Brazilian aviator Alberto Santos-Dumont. Santos-Dumont was looking for a timepiece that was more suitable for flying than his pocket watch. The square shape was created from the design of the connection between the watch and its strap.
The watch integrates a rectangle and a square - both departures from classic circular watches - without sacrificing function. The design incorporates ideas from the Art Deco movement, as well as more industrial-based schools of thought.
The Santos family of watches has grown over the last century to include many models, including the Santos Dumont, the Santos Demoiselle, and the Santos 100, the 100 year anniversary model.
